Kano, May 20, 2017 (NAN) Kano State is to hold its second edition of Economic and Investment Submit as part of activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the creation of the state.
Prof Hafiz Abubakar, the Deputy Governor and Chairman, Kano Golden Jubilee Committee, disclosed this while addressing a news conference in Kano on Saturday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the press conference marks the beginning of activities for the week-’long celebration,scheduled to hold from May 20 to May 27.
He said during the summit, key stakeholders were expected to make a wide range of presentations on how to harness the economic opportunities in the state.
According to him, the summit, with the theme: “Transforming the Economy of Kano State:Turning Challenges into Opportunities”, is aimed at laying a solid foundation for the economic prosperity of the state.
He said during the week-long celebrations, a special prayer session would also be conducted to seek for God’s blessings.
The Deputy Governor said other activities lined up for the week-long celebration included durbar, a novelty football match at Sani Abacha stadium, mobile film shows in various towns and tertiary institutions, as well as discussions in the media, among others.(NAN)
