21-year-old factory worker in court for alleged rape of neighbour’s under aged girl

Lagos, Jan. 25, 2017 (NAN) A 21-year-old factory, Paulinus Ekaka, on Wednesday appeared in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged rape of his neighbour ‘s under aged daughter.

Ekaka, who resides at the Alimisho, a suburb of Lagos, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Simeon Inuoha, told the court that the offence was committed on Jan. 9 at the accused’s residence.

Inuoha said that the accused lured the girl into his room under the pretence of sending her on an errand.

“The accused shut the door and raped her. It was the cry of the girl that attracted the neighbour to the scene,” he said.

He said the offence contravened Section 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B. O Osunsanmi, granted bail to the accused in he sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Osunsanmi adjourned the case till March 9 for hearing. (NAN)
