Ibadan, May 21, 2018 (NAN) The Democrat (TD), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), on Monday urged Nigerians to crave for genuine change in the polity outside the intervention of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
It said in a statement in Ibadan by its National Leader, Kehinde Ojoawo, that the adoption of ADC by Obasanjo to unseat President Muhammadu Buhari and All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019 would not solve Nigeria’s problems.
“Obasanjo’s move to seek political relevance in 2019 is suspicious.
“He cannot turn a freedom fighter this time around having frustrated the efforts to liberate the masses in the past and enthrone a genuine democracy in Nigeria,” it said.
The group urged the people to reject presidential and other candidates of the former president’s party in the 2019 general elections.
It also called on Nigerians to vote for other political platforms, especially masses party with grassroots focus, traits of diligence, honesty, focus and vision in 2019.
The group expressed optimism that the 2019 elections would be free and peaceful. (NAN)
