Abuja, July 5, 2017 (NAN) Two security guards of Pave Hotel, Abuja — John Kefas and Isreal Abraham — who allegedly vandalised their employer’s generators and stole parts worth N2.25 million, were on Wednesday brought before a Karmo Grade 1 Area Court in the FCT.
Both Kefas, 28, Abraham, 24, are arraigned on charges of joint act, negligence and theft to which they pleaded not guilty.
They were, however, released on N200, 000 bail each with two sureties each in like sum.
Mr Abubakar Sadiq, the judge, who gave the ruling, said the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and must be
officers of not less than Grade Level 5 in the civil service.
He also directed that the sureties must present their current utility bills and reasonable means of identification.
Police Prosecutor Auhioboh Florence told the court that on June 22, a man, Dr Aroriode Ovie of 32 Lome Crescent,

Florence said the accused were expected to be on duty at the hotel located at Plot 309, Ahmadu Bello Way, Abuja, when the
crime was committed.
“At about 8.00 a.m. when the complainant got to the hotel, he noticed that his JMG 400 KVA and JMG 250 KVA generator have been vandalised.
“They neatly locked the doors of the generators and left the keys on the floor. The stolen components are valued at N2.25 million,” she said.
The offences contravened Sections 79,196 and 288 of the Penal Code, Laws of the Federation.
