2 men appear in court for alleged theft

Abuja, April 20, 2017 (NAN) Two persons, Troduce Iormough and Dorcas Songu, on Thursday, appeared before a Gudu Upper Area Court, Abuja for alleged theft.

Iormough and Songu, both of Garki II, are facing trial on a three-count charge of criminal conspiracy, house breaking and theft but they pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The judge, Mr Umar Kagarko, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N50, 000 each with one reliable surety in like sum and adjourned the case till June 8 for hearing.

The Police Prosecutor, Mr Fidelis Ogbobe, earlier told the court that one Mrs Vera Anhwer, had reported the matter at the  Garki Police Station on April 10.

He said that the complainant alleged that both defendants broke into her house and stole her trousers, shirt and food flask.

Ogbobe said that the offence was contrary to Sections 97, 346 and 288 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
