2 in court for alleged theft of airconditioners, TV sets

Asaba , Dec 30 , 2016 (NAN) Two men,Abdullahi Hassan and Musa Hananiye were arraigned in an Asaba Magistrates’ Court for stealing Panasonic airconditioners and Plasma television sets.
Musa, 26, and Hassan, 30, were charged with stealing four airconditioners each value at N75,000, four Plasma television sets each valued at N50,000, and a gas cylinder valued at N35,000.
The Prosecutor, Mrs Blessing Okafor, told the court that the accused persons committed the offence on Oct. 2, at St. Bridget’s Road, Asaba.
Okafor said that all the items valued N535,000 belonged to Ogbuefi Ofili.
She said the offence contravened Sections 390 (9) and 427 of the Criminal Code Law Cap C 21 Vol. 1 Laws of Delta State, 2006.
The accused persons pleaded not guilty and their pleas were not taken.
The Magistrate, Akanume Okonkwo, ordered that they be remanded in prison, and adjourned the case till Jan. 12, 2017 for hearing. (NAN)
