By Sylvester Thompson
Abuja, April 11, 2017 (NAN) Two security guards — Yakubu Yohanne and Sampson Peter — who allegedly stole their employer’s pumping machines and iron rods valued at N47, 000, were on Tuesday brought before a Gudu Upper Area Court in Abuja.
Both are standing trial on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and theft.
They denied the charges.
The judge, Mr Umar Kagarko, admitted the duo to a bail of N50, 000 each with two sureties in like sum.
He said the sureties should reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
Earlier, Police Prosecutor Fidelis Ogbobe told the court that the complainant, Sunday Linigbo, of Kabusa Village, reported the incident at Apo Police Station.
He said the security guards, who were attached to the complainant’s block industry at Kabusa, conspired and stole two pumping machines and iron rods, all valued at N47, 000.
The offences contravened the provisions of Sections 97 and 289 of the Penal Code.
The case has been adjourned until June 6. (NAN)
