Lagos, Jan.10, 2018 (NAN) Two security guards on Wednesday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged stealing of a generator engine and pumping machine at the First Nation Airways.
The accused, Sule Agyo, 42 and Richard Williams, 30, are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing, to which they pleaded not guilty.
Agyo and William, whose addresses were not stated, are accused of stealing a Mikano generator engine and a pumping machine worth N3.7 million belonging to the First Nation Airways.
The prosecutor, Insp. Benson Emuerhi, told the court that the accused committed the offences at Opebi in Ikeja area of Lagos, at about 2.00 p.m on Dec.13, 2017.
“The accused conspired and stole a Mikano generator engine and a pumping machine, property of the First Nation Airways.
“The accused could not give satisfactory account of the stolen items when interrogated, hence the report,” Emuerhi said.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Bolanle Osunsanmi, admitted the accused
to bail of N300,000 each with two responsible sureties in like amount.
She said that the sureties must be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
The magistrate adjourned the case until April 17 for trial. (NAN)
