Lagos, Nov. 24, 2016 (NAN) Two businessmen, who allegedly stole N1.5 million from their business partner, were on Thursday docked at an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The duo, Olawale Idowu, 50, who resides in Egbeda area of Lagos State and Monday Ofisha, 40, a resident at Iyana Ipaja, Lagos, are being tried for conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp. Simeon Inuoha, told the court that the accused committed the offences on June 11, 2016 at Questimate Avenue, Oregun in Ikeja, Lagos.
Inuoha said that the accused failed to remit a profit of N1.5 million to Mr Olufemi Odomo from a business they executed after the payment of the money.
“The accused shared the complainant’s money and disappeared,” he further alleged.
The offences contravened Sections 285(1) and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi, granted the accused to a bail of N500, 000 each with two sureties in like sum.
Osunsanmi adjourned the case to Jan. 30, 2017 for mention. (NAN)
