Abuja, July 5, 2017 (NAN) The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted cloudy conditions over the Central States of the country on Thursday with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over Minna, Abuja and Jalingo in the morning.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook issued by its Central Forecast Office on Wednesday in Abuja, also predicted prospects of isolated thunderstorms over Yola, Minna, Lafia, Makurdi, Abuja and Lokoja.
It added that the central states were expected to have day and night temperatures of 27 to 31 and 18 to 22 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency predicted that the Southern States would experience isolated thunderstorms over Obudu, Akure, Ikom, Abeokuta, Ogoja, Enugu and isolated rains over Lagos, Warri, Yenagoa, Port-Harcourt, Calabar, Eket in the morning.
It also predicted prospects of isolated thunderstorms over the entire coastal cities during afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures of 28 to 33 and 20 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, cloudy conditions are anticipated over the Northern states during the morning hours with chances of isolated thunderstorms over some cities like Yelwa, Gusau, Sokoto, Katsina and Kebbi.
“There are prospects of isolated thunderstorms over the entire region during the afternoon and evening with day and night temperatures of 30 to 38 and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
“Greater chances of weather activities are expected across the country within the next 24 hours due to influx of moisture into the atmosphere,” NiMet predicted. (NAN)
